A migrant worker from Murshidabad was beaten to death in Odisha on suspicion of being a Bangladeshi.
An incident has occurred in Odisha where a migrant worker from Murshidabad was beaten to death on suspicion of being Bangladeshi while working there. Incidents of migrant workers being lynched to death have happened earlier as well.
The deceased, JEWEL RANA, was a 21-year-old resident of Chakbahadurpur under Suti police station in Murshidabad district. It is known that JEWEL had gone to Sambalpur in Odisha for daily wage work. There, he used to work as a daily laborer along with other workers from Bengal.
Allegedly, the incident occurred when Jewel was returning home from work. It is reported that on Wednesday evening, when some miscreants asked them to show their Aadhaar cards, several people started brutally beating Jewel and his companions on suspicion of them being Bangladeshis. After Jewel collapsed on the ground, the miscreants fled the spot. He was then taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Two others were also injured in the incident.
